Abstract
The Diesel Engine Combustion Process Almost Always Leaves By Products Ofnox, Co, Hc, Smoke And Particulate Matter. Out Of These Emissions, The Hydrocarbons And Carbon Monoxide Are Gaseous Emissions Most Harmful To The Human Health. The Purpose Of This Study Is Emission Reduction For Old Model Diesel Vehicles By Water Spray. The Methods Employed Were Data Collection, Identification Of Harmful Gas, Computation Of The Volume Of The Harmful Gas, Computationofthe Pressure Of The Gas, Design Of Components, Modeling Of The Components Parts Using Catia V5, Analysis Of The Loads On The Components Using Ansys And Comparison Of The Existing And The Modified Engine System. The Total Carbon Monoxide Emitted Was Found Maximum Before Application Of Water Spray. When Water Is Sprayed The Amount Of Carbon Monoxide Was Found Reduced. From The Above Result It Is Clearly Proved That The Water Spray Can Reduce The Amount Co. Were The Designed Reciprocating Water Pump Is Of Paramount Importance If It Is Fixed At The Exhaust Tail Pipe.
