Abstract

Gis-Based Asset Management Plan (Amp) Has Been A Key Component Of The Ministry Of Urban Development And Housing Construction (Mudhco). The Main Intention Is To Upgrade The 44 Urban Local Governments (Ulgs) Storing, Processing, And Retrieving Of All The Collected Physical Asset Inventory Data, Which Leads The Ulgs To Accomplish Effective Amp Decisions. However, The Current Amp Gis Is Susceptible To Problematic Challenges Such As Redundant Data Models, Inconsistent Attribute Coding Scheme, Inaccurate Data Processing, Any Of Which May Result In The Inadequate Use Of Advanced Gis Functionality. The Objective Of This Study Is To Evaluate The Existing Amp Geodatabase Model Of Gondar City Administration (Gca, One Of The Ulgs), And To Design A Comprehensive Geodatabase Model Based On The Mudhco Requirements. The Gca Amp Geodatabase Were Evaluated By Descriptive Approach Using The Imported Existing Amp Geodatabase Xml Schema Into Uml Diagrams. To Resolve The Outlined Problems As The Results Of The Existing Evaluation, A Set Of Spatial And Non-Spatial Geodatabase Requirements Of The Amp Were Specified And A Comprehensive Amp Geodatabase Was Designed. The Study Geodatabase Design Incorporates Esri??S Conceptual, Logical, And Physical Geodatabase Design Phases And Applies Them To Gca??S Amp Geospatial Data Needs. The Evaluation Results Revealed That The Gca Amp Geodatabase Contains About 62 % Redundant Feature Classes, 81 % Of Undefined Attribute Validations And 14 % Of Missing Required Amp Attributes. Within The Designed Geodatabase, Twenty-Three Feature Classes, Eight Object Classes, Ten Relationship Classes, Forty-Eight Domains And Nine Subtypes Were Created To Establish This Geodatabase Design. As Per The Four Amp Strategic Activity Areas (I.E. Movement Network, Water Supply Network, Environmental Service And Social-Economic Services), The Geodatabase Was Built And Tested On The Pilot Sub-Cities Of Gca. The Designed Geodatabase Model Will Aid The Gca Adequately To Document, Process, Retrieve, And Analyze Their Amp Geospatial Requirements As Per The Mudhco Amp Manual. As The Obtained Validation Test Result Indicated, The Designed Geodatabase Model Is Efficient And Appropriate For Amp Geospatial Management, And It Can Be Used As A Template Geodatabase For Other Ulgs In Ethiopia
