As the result of the study revealed, students of Gulliso preparatory school appeared to have fear of making mistakes when speaking in English, lack of motivation, proficiency, problem of mother tongue use excessively, lack of clear instruction and supervision from the teacher. In order to overcome these difficulties, it was recommended that teachers should make a great effort in assisting students to avoid or minimize the habit of fear of making mistakes and excessively use of mother tongue. In addition, they should motivate their students to participate and use English in group discussion by praising for any participation they make in the group. Moreover, teachers should give their students clear instruction before the group work activity begins and supervises them while they are working together effectively and regularly. Students must also provide input in designing group work like group size, group composition, the time needed and other related things.
