dc.description.abstractTraining is indispensable strategic tool for enhancing employee performance and organizations keep increasing training budget on yearly basis with believe that it will earn them competitive edge. The main objective of this study examines the perception of employees on the effectiveness of training on their job performance in Benshangul Gumuz Regional state finance bureau. Descriptive survey research type was adopted for this study. The data collection was done using a questionnaire. The response rate of respondents was 83.85%. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and correlation analysis. The findings of the descriptive statistics shows that employees perceived that on-the job training and off-the-job training helped to get the necessary skills and knowledge. The correlation analysis result clarified that the relationship between on-the-job training and off-the-job training on employees’ performance positively and significantly correlated. However, management should not relent in their request to train their employees to develop new ideas that will keep improving and retaining employee performance.en_US
