Abstract

The Djibouti-Addis Ababa Corridor Is Ethiopia's Primary Trade Artery, Facilitating Over 90% Of The Country's Imports And Exports. Despite Its Strategic Importance, Frequent Delays In Freight Transport Along This Corridor Pose Significant Challenges To Ethiopia's Economic Growth. This Study Aims To Evaluate The Impact Of Freight Transport Delays On Customers?��? Business And National Economy. For This Study Populations Were Selected Using Purposive Sampling. The Structured Questionnaires Were Prepared And Primary Data Were Collected From Customs Clearing Agents, And Private And Company Freight Transport Service Providers. The Secondary Source Of Data Was Collected From Customer Records, Initial And Destination Dates Of Freight Transport, Demurrage History, Transport Records, Customs Data, Economic Indicators, Etc. The Research Employs A Mixed Approach, Combining Qualitative And Quantitative Data Analysis. Economic Impact Modeling Is Used To Quantify The Cost Of Delays In Ethiopia's Trade And Gdp. The Findings Reveal That Delays Are Primarily Caused By Infrastructural Bottlenecks, Customs Inefficiencies, And Logistical Challenges Such As Port Congestion And Inadequate Road Networks.
