dc.description.abstractOver The Years, The Discussion Of Sustainability Has Centered On The Interaction Of Its Three Key Dimensions: Economic, Environmental, And Social, As Well As The Need To Better Integrate These Three Dimensions To Achieve Desired Development Outcomes. Rural Road Construction In Developing Countries Has Not Taken Geology, Topography, Or Land Use Into Account, Which Has Resulted In A Variety Of Issues, Such As Land Sliding And Erosion. Thus, This Study Investigates The Sustainability Of Rural Road Construction In The West Arsi Zone, Oromia Region, Ethiopia. The Population Of The Study Comprised The Client, Construction (Contractors And Consultants) Organization, And Displaced Households Those Lives In The Area Of Rural Road Construction Projects And Systematic Sampling Was Used As The Sampling Technique Of The Research To Extract The Sample, In Which 50 Sample Size Were Selected. Primary Data Was Collected Directly From A Questionnaire Survey And Interview And The Collected Data For The Study Was Analyzed, Using The Statistical Package For Social Sciences, Version 20. The Result Of The Study Was Presented With Frequencies, Percentages, Mean Scores, Interpretation Of Mean Scores, And Ranks. As The Finding Indicated That The Construction Process Was Not Adopt Sustainable Rural Road Construction Approach In Terms Of Environmental, Social And Economic Indicators. So, This Study Concludes That The Cost Of Sustainable Construction, The Availability Of Human Resources And Sustainable Materials Hampers, Lack Of Knowledge Of Sustainable Rural Road Construction, Government Policies, Weather Condition, And Market Incentives Are Significant Factors To The Adoption Of Sustainable Rural Road Construction And Finally, Based On The Findings Of The Study, Construction Industry Stakeholders Need To Develop A Mechanism For Overcoming The Natural Factors That Hamper The Implementation Of Sustainable Road Construction.en_US
