Abstract

In Recent Times Increase In Fuel Price Is Meticulously Observed And Pertaining To Current Day??S Strict Government Regulation, Current Buses Are On Track Of Being Much More Inefficient In Terms Of Fuel Costs. A Large Percentage Of The Usable Fuel Employed In A Commercial Bus Is Utilized To Overcome The Aerodynamic Drag At Highway Speeds And Therefore If Reduced Could Produce A Large Reduction In The Total Fuel Consumption Of The Vehicle And Reduce The Negative Environmental Effects. This Project Modified The Outer Surface Of The Bus Aerodynamically In Order To Reduce The Effect Of Drag Force Of The Bus Which In Turn Results In Reduction Of Fuel Consumption Of The Bus. Luxury Mid Bus Was Modeled In This Study With Airvanes And Front Modification Simultaneously As Drag Reduction Devices, Were Employed On The Model Bus To Reduce The Drag Coefficient Of The Bus. And The Models Were Entirely Designed Using The Software Solidwork 2017. The Models Were Existing Luxury Mid Bus, Existing Mid Bus With Airvane Device And Airvane Device With Front Faring. The Airflow Surrounding The Bus Models Were Modeled Using A Computational Fluid Dynamics Software. This Work Depicts How The Modifications Could Reduce The Drag And The Lift Forces Acting On The Bus. Cfd Analysis For Redesigned Models Shows Remarkable Results For T
