| dc.description.abstract | This Thesis Focuses On Simulating The Performance Of A Vapor Absorption Refrigeration System Of 16.3 Kw Cooling Capacity That Is Powered By Heat Energy Recovered From Exhaust Gas Of A Mid Bus And By Dissipating Electrical Energy Collected By Direct Solar Pv Cell. The Major Components Of The Ac System Are Evaporator, Condenser, Absorber, Generator, Pump And Expansion Valves. The Ac System Uses Ammonia As Refrigerant Obtained By Distillation Of Ammonia -Water (Nh3-H2o) Solution In The Generator. The Cooling Load Was Calculated For 23 Passengers Of The Mid Bus Using Heat Balance Method (Hbm). For This Load The Vapor Absorption Air Conditioner Was Simulated And Modeled By Ees Software At 5??C Evaporator Temperature, 50??C Condenser Temperature, 10??C Absorber Temperature And 105??C Generator Temperature. The Cop Obtained Is 0.656 Which Is Good Performance For Vapor Absorption System. For Sizing Each Component Of The Ac System Computer Codes Were Developed In Ees. The Power Source For The Ac System Was Heat From The Mid Bus Engine Exhaust And Heat Obtained By Dissipating Electricity Collected By Photovoltaic Cell (Pvc) Under Adama Weather Conditions. That Is, Solar Pv Will Supply Some Power To Support The Exhaust Energy To Drive The Air Conditioning System. The Size Of The Solar Pv Cell Was 5.39 M X 2.455 M. From Experimental Test At 2300 Rpm The Exhaust Temperature Of Flue Gas Was . . The Average Generator Heat Was 44.35 Kw From Engine Exhaust And 10.33 Kw By Dissipating Electric Energy Generated By Solar Pv Cell. The Energy Consumption Of The Pump In Driving The Nh3-H2o Solution Was 1.06 W Which Is Small. The Performance Of The System Is Also Analyzed In Ees For Various Working Conditions. | en_US |
