Abstract

Mojo Dry Port started its initial operation in 2007 on 64 hectares of land and underwent further expansion by acquiring 86.922 hectares in 2015 and 4.75897 hectares for the railway spur connection. The port that lies along the Ethiopia-Djibouti route served as a site for lodging goods and services. It helped much in facilitating in-bound and outbound trade and businesses to and from Ethiopia. This Dry port significance arising from land lockedNess, congestion, and low port infrastructure provision perspective and its integration with the town in general is the focus of the research and to be addressed through reviewing the dry port experiences from developed and developing countries parallel to existing situation analysis at Mojo town. This served a purpose to look for a more appropriate approach to integrate the Mojo Dry Port to respond to the ever-growing dry port demand by incorporating the development of the town. A strategic approach was followed to lead to modernization of the dry port whereby the necessary infrastructural development has been identified as crucial to bring about a quite commendable town development and giving the dry port a competitive and fit for state-of-art service delivery status. Accordingly, this explanatory research assess Mojo Dry ports Plan and its integration with Mojo town in all related facilities and promote enhancement of the development of the town in specific and the country in general
