Abstract
A cloud based framework of online shopping service has significant role for the development of trade industry and national development in general. This study focuses on an in-depth assessment of the cloud computing and online shopping to apply it for Ethiopia. The data is qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed by using primary and secondary data sources. Random and nonrandom (purposive) sampling techniques are utilized so as to collect data from different data sources. The study briefly addressed the major problems of our traditional shopping system such as time consuming, wastage of money, infrastructure overburden and lack of competition among sellers, lack of trust, difficult to find the expected item and generally lacks efficiency and effectiveness of the trade. To reduce the above traditional shopping problems cloud based framework of online shopping is implemented. Moreover, cloud computing generally maximizes the efficiency and effectiveness of trade by solving the above traditional shopping systems. Thus, the major findings of the study are lack of awareness by the public at large about online shopping, lack of technology, lack of trust and the payment system is also another problem. The researcher develop online shopping architecture, framework and propose hybrid cloud deployment model to address the major problems and findings. Therefore we proposed a four layered framework design for online shopping in Ethiopia. The Developed online shopping in cloud based framework is cost effective, interactive, reliable and efficient than the existing method because of its immense advantage. The framework is developed and recommendations are forwarded for concerned officials for the implementation of online shopping in Ethiopia.
