dc.description.abstractTimetabling is the allocation, subject to constraints, of given resources to objects in space-time domain to satisfy a set of desirable objectives as nearly as possible. Particularly, the university timetabling problem for classes or lectures can be viewed as fixing in time and space a sequence of meetings between instructors and students, while simultaneously satisfying a number of various essential conditions or constraints. The timetabling problem concerns virtually every educational institution, be it high school, college, or university and thus requires to be solved effectively. This is usually done ̳by hand‘, taking several days or weeks of iterative repair after feedback from lecturers complaining that the timetable is unfair to them in some way. The basic challenge is to schedule lectures over a limited time period so as to avoid conflicts and to satisfy a number of side constraints. The manual system of preparing time table in colleges with large number of students is very time consuming and usually ends up with various classes clashing either at same room or with same teachers having more than one class at a time. These are just due to common human errors which are very difficult to prevent in processes such as these. To overcome these problems people usually taking the previous year‘s timetable and modifying it but still it is a boring job to incorporate changes. To overcome all these problems we propose to make an automated system. The system will take various inputs like details of students, subjects and class rooms and teachers available depending on these input the time table can be scheduled with announcement of any crashing. And also our aim is to develop a general purpose which can efficiently generate optimal solutions.en_US
