Abstract
Municipal Solid Waste Management Has Become A Great Problem Which Need A Serious Consideration For Many Underdeveloped Nations. Owing To The Sensitivity Of Solid Waste Disposals As Population Increase And Increasing Volume Of Trash Generates, Solid Waste Disposal Sites Are A Highly Critical Issue In The Solid Waste Management System. In Ejere Town There Was No Suitable Waste Disposal Site. Therefore, The Main Objective Of This Study Was Assessing Suitability Of Solid Waste Disposal Site Using Geospatial Technology And Analytical Hierarchy Process Of Multicriteria Decision Making Method. To Achieve This Objective The Study Conducted By Geospatial Technology Integrate With Analytical Hierarchy Process (Ahp) Of Multicriteria Decision Making Analysis Methods. The Finding Of This Study Answers The Question Where Is The Potential Suitable Area For Disposal. Different Software Was Used To Accomplish This Study Like Arcgis, Idrisi Selva, Google Earth And Erdas Imagine. The Data Used For This Study Were Dem To Generate Slope Of The Study Area, Structural Plan Of The Town, Landsat Image 8 To Prepare Current Land Use Land Cover Feature Map, Interview And Field Observation To Have A Confidence While Assigning Value For All Parameters To Calculate Weight. In This Thesis Work Eight Parameters Have Been Considered. These Parameters Were Land Use Land Cover, Soil Type, Slope, Proximity To (Road, Waste Bodies, Protected Area, Built-Up). Suitability Of All These Parameters For Solid Waste Disposal Have Been Analysis Using Arcgis 10.8 Version. Assigning Value And Making Relative/Pairwise Compression Among Two Parameters Would Generate Weight For Each Of Them Using Idrisi Software On And Then Overall Spatial Analysis Was Done In Arcgis Using Weight Overlay Operation To Determine Suitable Potential Area For Waste Disposal In Ejere Town. As A Result, Four Level Of Suitability Were Analyzed. Level Of Suitability Analyzed Were Valued As 1,2,3 And 4 In Which Their Degree Of Suitability Was Restricted, Unsuitable, Less Suitable And More Suitable Respectively. More Suitable Area Covers An Area Of 1ha And Less Suitable Area Cover 135ha. Generally, More Suitable Area Was Located At North East And North West Direction And Less Suitable Located Border Of The Town. The Current Dumping Site Must Be Stop To Give The Services For Disposal Purpose. Because It Does Not Locate In Proper Location Means Dump Site Located Gorge Side In One Side And Adjacent To Residential House On The Other Side.
