Adama city is suited in Rift Valley, on flat terrain characteristics and surrounded by mountains and ridged topography. The objective of this study was to analyze how Land Use Land, Cover Changes Dynamic and resulting socio-economic Impact on Resident of Adama City, in Case of Dabe Sub-City, has changed over the last three decades. Demand for urban land is rising due to urbanization; this demand is triggered by rural to urban migration & growth of urban population. Access to urban land is uneasy for residents. To achieve the intended objective, the study uses the Land sat image of 1990, 2008, and 2021 and identifies, quantifies, and maps the land use land cover of the study area. Both qualitative and quantitative data were used and evaluated in a systematic way using Geographic information service and remote sensing techniques as analysis tools respectively. For this investigation, the studyused both primary and secondary data. The study used to analyze the Land sat images of settlers for three consecutive decades, questionnaire and focal discussion with the settlers for a long period of time in the study area. The characteristics were confirmed using observed Land use land cover by using kappa parameters; the overall kappa index of 0.801, 0.806% and 0.814%. The result shows that the proportion of built-up area was 12.4 % in 1990, in the table 9: rose to just over 26.21% in 2021, with annual growth rates of 9.5%, 4.32%, and 13.82% in the three study phases, indicating an expansion in the built-up area was 8.34km2 , resulting in agriculture, barren land and forest losing 3.91km2 , 3.22km2 , and 1.21km2 respectively from 1990 to 2021. From the group discussion with the elders of the selected area and the experts from municipality offices, the main causes of land use land cover change were the expansion of the city towardsthe study area and the implementation of an industrial park in the study area, and the informal settlers migrated from different areas of the country to that place for different reasons. The output of the study provides useful information for land- planners and decision makers to make better decisions to improve future land use policies and formulate management strategies within the framework of sustainable land use planning. The planner and policy makers to develop urbanization not only in the horizontal dimension but in vertical dimension as well. Furthermore, implementation of building bylaws and land use plans is highly recommended.en_US
