Abstract
Pregnancy induced hypertension is an obstetric disorders leads to death for both mother and unborn baby. It is an elevation of blood pressure and proteinuria either in the first or second half of pregnancy. In Ethiopia, studies indicate that 29% of mother?�?s death occurred due to pregnancy induced hypertension. These disorder worse due to the scarcity of specialists, practitioners, health and skill gap in diagnosis and treatment of pregnancy induced hypertension on low level medical professionals.However, there is an increasing appreciation of the role that computers are playing to improve the overall health delivery systems. Particularly, knowledge based technology plays a great role in medicine domain area.This research amid to develop a web based knowledge base system to provide advice for medical professionals in diagnosis and treatment of pregnancy induced hypertension disorder. To achieve research objective, knowledge is acquired using both unstructured and structured interviews with four experts, which are selected purposively from Debre berhan zonal referral hospital and Ayu private hospital. Additionally, knowledge is acquired from secondary sources by using document analysis method of knowledge elicitation. Then acquired knowledge is modelled using decision tree structure that represents concepts, parameters and procedures involved in pregnancy induced hypertension disorders diagnoses.
