Flooding, The Overflow Of Water Onto Land That Is Normally Dry, Is An Increasingly Severe Hazard In Ethiopia, Particularly In Flood-Prone Regions Such As The Baro River Basin In Gambella Zuria Wereda. This Area Frequently Experiences Flooding Due To The Baro River Overflowing Its Banks, Primarily Caused By Flat Terrain And Heavy Seasonal Rainfall. This Study Employs An Integrated Approach Using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing (RS), And The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) To Assess Flood Risk And Map Flood-Prone Zones. Key Flood Causative Factors Slope, Rainfall, Land Use/Land Cover (Lulc), Soil Type, Drainage Density, And Proximity To Rivers Were Analyzed And Weighted To Generate A Flood Susceptibility Map. The Resulting Classification Identified Five Flood Hazard Zones: Very High (18%), High (27%), Moderate (23%), Low (23%), And Very Low (9%) Risk Areas, With The Central And Southern Parts Of The Study Area Found To Be The Most Vulnerable.en_US
