Most of the loads in Sugar industries are inductive in nature and causes low power factor. A low value of power factor leads to increase in losses of active power, and also draws penalty by the utility. Today Electrical Engineers compensate this loss by the Correcting of power factor. There are some methods of power factor correction have been proposed but with the technological revolution growth automation of every system is desired. The main goal of this project is to increasing the current power factor of Wonji/Shoa Sugar Factory from 0.722 to 0.99. In this paper, the power Factor correction in the system is done by using Static VAR Generator (SVG) in Load Transient condition. The system power factor is become constant by using SVG in the power control center (PCC), where it is changed in different conditions. To obtain the best power factor in system, Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) Algorithm controller is used to check the important reactive power created by the loads and connected to PCC. The simulation results will display with MATLAB/Simulink to verify the effectiveness of the proposed system.en_US
