Abstract
This thesis work basically focuses on the development of intermediate technology of sheet metal rolling machines for sustainable motivated small and micro enterprise manufacturers. It presents the design, construction and testing functionality of a sheet metal rolling machine for small and
micro enterprises. The rollers were made of steel l200mm long and 65 mm diameter. The rolling machines have the following parts supporting plat, bush, crank, adjusting screw, rollers, spur gear, and stand.
The sources of data for the study are questionnaires, unstructured interviews, survey of previous relevant works, consultation and personal observation at the case small and micro enterprise and TVET College. By analyzing these data, the paper can easily identify what the major problems and their causes to the existing sheet metal rolling machines.
For parametric specification of three roller sheet metal rolling machine, it is necessary to use the best roller aperture for different material, analyze the stress induced in rollers, sheet metal and gear teeth tangential and radial force
During manufacturing different processes like sawing, shearing, turning, facing, grinding, welding and finishing are implemented for different parts according to the working principles. It is also necessary to design the machine using Computer aided design (Auto CAD) and part drawing is provided for the purpose of manufacturing process. During designing it is considered that Posture and external loads such as hand force have a dominant effect on ergonomic analysis outcomes.
