Abstract
The main objective of this research is to assess the management control system to the achievement of strategic objectives in commercial bank of Ethiopia with a particular emphasis to Adama district. The researcher aimed to assess the management control system on some selected strategic objectives of the bank such as maximizing customer satisfaction, increase employee satisfaction and improve human resource development. This study used descriptive research design and qualitative data type. The researcher used only primary source of data through questionnaire. The researcher used random sampling method to choose branches from the district. 30 branches were
selected by using convenience sampling technique. To analyze the data the researcher used descriptive statistics tools like mean, median and standard deviation. Findings of the study shows that commercial bank of Ethiopia continuously control customer satisfaction by using different control mechanisms. According to employee satisfaction the findings show that the bank gave less focus to control employee satisfaction. The human resource development control of the bank is also not well developed and strong. the researcher provides some recommendations like, CBE needs to CBE needs to focus to increase employee satisfaction by giving high emphasis of controlling employee satisfaction, to improve the bank’s human resource development control, the
bank should measure each employees performance very well and the compensation package should be link with their performance and the promotion of staff should be transparent, managers shouldn’t mix personal interest with the bank interest, there should be integrity between top levelmanagers and bottom level employees.
