Abstract

The purpose of the study was to explore the impact of organizational support and safety climate on employees’ safe behaviors and to inform the sugar factory in general and managers in particular about the effective way of rendering organizational support and practicing safety climate. The researcher used descriptive approach of research which is used to evaluate the cause and effect relationship between safe behavior and safety climate components and perceived organizational support to gain new insights and also to verify and illustrate these practices. The data for the study was collected from primary sources which were conducted by using questionnaire that take place with workers. Wonji- Shoa Sugar Factory has various departments from these departments production and engineering departments were selected by simple random sampling. According to the finding of the study majority of workers either sometimes or never comply with safety procedures, because of perceived organizational support, perceived management attitude toward safety and group norm on safety. Therefore the management should give due attention to these hindering factors to ensure safety of the factory.
