Abstract
Cultural Aspects Will Play A Key Role In The Overall The World 2030 Sustainable Development Goal Agenda To Be Successful. Hora Arsadi Cultural Waterfront Landscape Found In Bishoftu City, Where People Celebrate In Mass Annually. However, Since The Site Is Near To The Capital Of The Country, It Gets Concern And Attracts Millions Of Celebrator And Tourists. It Confronted Problem Since Unplanned Development Has Negative Impact On The Site. In Order To Identify The Problems And Enhance The Cultural Identity The General Objective Was To Evaluate Urban Cultural Landscape Of Hora (Lake) Arsadi. With This Regard The Thesis Tried To Address Research Questions To Achieve The Objectives. The Research Was Conducted Using Both Descriptive And Explanatory Methods Using Primary And Secondary Data Used Comparison To Measure Points Listed With Public Opinion And Urban Planning And Design For Its Success. The Primary Data Were Collected Using Interview Of Local Government Officials, Site Survey Using Prepared Checklist And Questionnaires While Secondary Data Were Collected From Different Source. The Major Findings Of The Thesis Were The Study Area Was Not Well Planned, Dilapidated, Poor Development, But The Residence Use The Site Because Of The Site Is Cultural, Waterfront And Have Good Sight; Low Density And Horizontal Development, Poor Road Networks, Roundabout And Street Scape Design Problems And Dead-End Road; Most Land Allocation Was Done By Previous Regimes Of Federal Governmental Officials With No Policies, Standards And Guidelines Set By The City; Existing Development And Natural Relief Of The Site Need Adjustment To Enhance The Identity Of The Site And Design For Greenery Of The Site; The Walkway Was Not Properly Constructed Specially At The Time Of Irreechaa Festival; The Waterfront Is Blocked At Different Points Along The Hora Arsadi; No Planned As Well As Existing Parking Thus Every Person Will Walk Long Distance; On The Development Of Hora Arsadi Government Is Waiting For People And People Are Waiting For Government; No Proper Use Of Natural Terrain And Land Allocation Of Waterfront, Specially Existing Land Use. Hence, The Study Proposed Landscape Design Solutions For The Hora Arsadi Waterfront Cultural Landscape In Order To Enhance Vitality, Identity, Imeageablity, Livability Alleviation Of Major Problems And Findings That Tackle The Proper Functioning Of The Study Area. The Major Planning And Design Solutions Forwarded Are Planning To Pedestrian Friendly Roads And Land Use Integrated To Planning Area.
