dc.description.abstractReliable Information Is Of Utmost Importance For Planning And Decision Making. Various Challenges Face The Water Resources Management Sector In Regard To Water Resources Information Management. The Main Challenges Include Lack Of Well-Defined Processes Of Information Flow Between Various Organizations And Different Storage Formats Hindering Proper Information Sharing Resulting To Duplication Of Information. At Present Addis Ababa Water Sewerage Authority (Aawsa) Uses Analogue Form Which Presents A Challenge Of Data Retrieval, Information Analysis And Decision Making Though There Are On-Going Efforts To Digitize Them Into Ms Excel Format. The Objective Of This Study Is To Develop Web-Based Gis Application Borehole Information Management System That Will Enable Efficient And Effective Decision Making. Stand-Alone Gis Systems Are Limited In Data Sharing Abilities Towards The Public. Web-Based Gis Platforms Provide Resourceful Means Of Data Sharing And Analysis The Study Sort To Address This Problem By Developing A Web Based Gis Borehole Information Management System .The Web Application Was Developed Using Free And Open-Source (Foss) Web Development Tools, These Tolls Were Used To Create And Deploy A Web Application That Will Provides A Better Option For Water Sector Stake Holders In Addis Ababa To Quickly Access Information About The Borehole Information Data In The Office Or The Field Without Referring To A Paper Document., The Output Was A Fully Functional Web-Based Gis Application Borehole Information Management System In Addis Ababa, This Web Mapping Application That Can Be Utilized By All Stakeholders Includes Addis Ababa Water And Sewerage Authority (Aawsa) And Other Water Related Governmental And Nongovernmental Organization, Driller Company And Researcher. The Web Application Provides A User-Friendly Interface That Provides Quick Answers About Borehole Location And Other Information?�?S With In A Fraction Of Minute.
