O is a line-of-sight wireless communication technology that uses invisible beams of light to provide high-speed wireless connections that can send and receive voice, video, and data information. Free space optical communication has emerged as a best solution to high-speed transmission systems due to its higher bandwidth and higher data rates. To implement this intelligent network, by using MIMO, MIMO-OFDM and optical filters are, employed. When MIMO systems are, used significant capacity gain can be, observed as it exploits spatial multiplexing by having several transmit and receive antennas. MIMO-OFDM is the current technology used in the 5G wireless communication system. MIMO-OFDM is the current technology used in the 5G wireless communication system; hence, our approach to the evaluation of the capacity of the proposed FSO communication system with MIMO-OFDM will be very useful for providing a solution to the problem of the last mile bottleneck. Therefore, in this thesis, to analysis the performance we modeled MIMO- OFDM detection with (4-QAM, 16-QAM, 32-QAM, 64-QAM, 256-QAM) and utilizing different optical filters such us Gaussian, Rectangular, Trapezoidal, Bessel and Fabry perot. A comparison is carried out between our proposed scheme and reported counterpart. The performances have been, investigated by referring to different factors such us optical range (transmission distance), beam divergence, transmitter aperture diameter and receiver diameter. Different optical filters using pre post amplification provides high bandwidth for 5G application. If the length of the transmission is, increased largely, the signal is, dispersed which can be, explored as future work.en_US
