Abstract

This Study Presents Assessing The Impacts Of Subcontractor??S Schedule Overruns In Building Construction. Subcontracting Is A Common Practice In The Modern Construction Industry. Subcontractors Carry Out A Large Part Of The Work Done In Construction Projects. The Objective Of This Research Is To Assess The Impacts Of Subcontractor Schedule Overruns In Building Construction. A Well-Executed Schedule By Subcontractors Contributes To A Project's Timely, Cost-Effective, And High-Quality Completion As Well As To Higher Profit Margins And Fewer Claims. In This Study Questionnaire Survey And Literature Review Were Used To Collect Relevant Information From Primary And Secondary Sources. Using A Questionnaire Survey The Required Data Were Collected From 48 Respondents. The Data Gathered Using The Questionnaire Was Analyzed With The Help Of The Fuzzy Logic Toolbox Of The MATLAB Program Software. It Is Appropriate For Uncertain Or Approximate Reasoning That Involves Human Intuition Which Includes Defining The Input Variables, Defining Output Variables, Defining The Membership Function, Defining The Rule Base, And Analyzing The Design. The Most Critical Factors Of Schedule Delay Of Subcontractors Were Identified As Frequent Design And Scope Changes, Shortage Of Skilled Laborers And Lack Of Experience, Financial Difficulties Faced By Contractors, And Lack Of Information Flow Between Parties. Most Of The Respondents Surveyed In The Study Have Agreed That Schedule Overruns Of Subcontractors Have An Impact Related To Cost, Time, And Quality Respectively. The Study Recommends Conducting Background Checks On Subcontractors Before Hiring Ensuring They Have The Necessary Skills And Experience For The Job Also Assigning Experienced Supervisions To Monitor Subcontractor's Work On Site Closely.
