Abstract
Arsi Is One Of The Biggest Areas Of Land Where Agriculture Is The Major Sector, And Seasonal Reliance Limits The Sector's Output. The Presence Of Several River Basins Demonstrates The Area's Irrigation Potential. The Use Of Hybridized Wind And Solar Energy Water Pumping Technology For Irrigation Is A Creative And Long-Term Solution To This Problem. The Adoption Of This Technique Can Result In Several Advantages, Including Increased Production By Reducing Reliance On Rainfall And Improved Farmer Living Conditions. Performance Investigation Of Solar And Wind Energy Hybridized Water Pumping System For Potato Irrigation- A Case Of Samira In Arsi Zone Is Presented In This Study. The System Was Created With The Geography Of The Location And Local Metrological Data In Consideration. The Hybridized Wind And Solar Energy System Were Designed To Be Capable Of Irrigating A Hectare-Sized Potato Field With A Daily Water Need Of 68m3And A Total Dynamic Head Of 91m.Cropwat Is Used To Calculate The Crop's Water Requirements, While Homer Is Used For Optimization, Simulation, Sensitivity, And Economic Analysis. The Amount Of Energy Consumed To Pump Water Is More Than The Amount Of Water Required By The Users, According To The Findings. After Optimizing Using The Homer Software, A Solar And Wind Energy Hybridized System With The Specifications 10kw Pv, 7bwc Excel-S, 20kw Converter, Total Net Present Cost (Npc) $111,598.50 And Levelized Cost Of Energy (Coe) $0.00978/Kwh Is Selected For The Samira Village, Munessa Woreda, Which Has An Irrigation Problem That Is Dependent On The Season Is Chosen. The Site's Water Requirement Is 68m3/Day, Which Can Be Readily Met By Building Two Systems For The Community. There Is Surplus Electrical Power From The Installed Hybrid System That Is Utilized For Other Purposes By Utilizing A Battery, And There Is Also Excess Water That We Use For Other Purposes. So, While Our Goal Is To Tackle The Irrigation Water Problem, The System Also Solves Other Issues
