Modification of Pedal Bicycle to Solar Assisted Passenger Tricycle

Abstract

This Project Focused On Improved Solar Powered Passenger Tricycles Suitable For Countries Like Ethiopia Which Found Under Developed Country With Huge Population Density And Has No Natural Petrol Resources. It Was Very Much Suitable Of Alternative Energy Such As Solar Energy For Three Wheeled Vehicles And Caters The Need Of Economically Poor Class Of Society. It Can Be Operated Throughout The Year Free Of Cost. The Most Important Feature Of This Solar Tricycle Is That It Does Not Consume Valuable Fossil Fuels Thereby Saving Corers Of Foreign Currencies, It Is Eco-Friendly & Pollution Free, As It Does Not Have Any Emissions. The Project Was Incorporated Mechanical Parts Modification Performed; Solar Cell And Electrical Parts Installation Were Employed To Accomplish The Objectives Of The Project. Various Specific Stage Of Process Have Take Placed Such As Components Required For Solar Tricycle Has Been Selected In Appropriately, Various Necessary Parts Of Solar Tricycle Were Modified And Improved, And Performance Test Done With Fully Functioned Prototype. In The Principal Contribution Of This Project Was Improved A Solar Assisted Passenger Tricycle That Suitable For Transportation Used In Rural And Urban Areas Of Our Country, The Load Capacity Was Limited To Two Passengers Without Deriver And With A Total Weight Of 268 Kg Which Can Be Driven At A Maximum Speed Of 30 Kmp. As A Part Of Paper Work, The Solar Assisted Tricycle Is Fitted With A Dc Motor On Rear Axle Of A Tricycle With Power Rating Of 627 W And With A Travelling Speed Of Around 30 Kmph. It Was Provided With A Pair Of Lead Acid Batteries Of 60 Ah, A Photovoltaic Solar Panel With Capacity Of 700 Watt, Surface Area Of Selected Solar Panel Was 1.76 M 2 With Input Irradiance Power Of 1760 Watt, A Voltage Regulator Of 24v 32 Amp, Accelerator And Motor Controller Of 24v 28.2amp. In Most Cities Of Our Country The Solar Energy Is So Sufficient, While It Is Attractive To Use Solar Tricycle Than Using Man Powered Tricycle Due To Its Advantages Was Discussed In The Project. We Have Concluded From A Given Was That Improved Solar Assisted Passenger Tricycle Has A Great Deal To Offer And It Is Going To Be A Big Part Of Our Future Prospective.
