Abstract

Total quality management had evolved into such a widely recognized theory and methodology for achieving organizational goals. It is a company strategy that aims to achieve better performance by providing high-quality goods or services. The current study shows an investigation on the implementation of Total quality management impact on the availability of machine (total running hour and finding the root causes of National Cement Share Company machine down time. The research was done in National cement share company most critical areas that affects the production which are vertical raw mill, Kiln main machinery used to produce clinker and cement mill using qutionaries 60 random sampling as a primary data and detailed three years of recorded machine down time data was used to analyze the availability of machine and was used to identify out of control data caused due to mechanical, electrical breakdown, raw material shortage and mostly because of external issues like power problem.also the study shows that the cost analysis of both clinker and cement production had more than 40 % loss 0r 12,000,000,000 birrs has been encountered in terms of money not to mention energy loss.
