Abstract
A Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) are nodes that are mobile, infrastructure-less and multihop collected and communicated nodes. Nowadays, MANETs are becoming popular and in the area time sensitive applications are increasing as well. Such applications need Quality of Service (QoS) evolving with respect to bandwidth, delay, etc. As a result, it becomes important for MANETs to have consider QoS metrics to select nodes that are can flood packets to next hop.So, it becomes critical for MANETs have an environment with desirable topology and QoS metrics based MPR selection for MANET. Then, we recommend improving the performance of the network based on. Generally, dealing with the QoS issue in MANETs are challenging because of the network topology changes quickly and the reachable link information for routing is naturally indefinite.
Generally, this thesis is a proposed QoS based routing algorithm by improving MPR selection methods in the OLSR protocol considering the quality of service-needed applications like multimedia and time-sensitive applications. As such, we use the Modified-clustering algorithm for topology management and QoS based MPR selection for OLSR. Give chance for the multiple Quality of Service metrics in order to select the MPR node has been improving the performance of MANET nodes. finally, the performances of the proposed algorithm have been evaluated as such the algorithm achieved high throughput and packet delivery ratio in which delay has been minimized when compared with standard OLSR. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm achieved from 60% to 62 % packet delivery ratio and from 590.4 Byte/Sec to 654 Byte/Sec throughputs while the average end-to-end delay is minimized from 40ms to 33ms and during the simulation period, a node that is selected as MPR stays for 728.6 seconds, approved from 570.9 seconds.
