Abstract
This Study Was Conducted In Three Condominium Sites To Assess Utility And Community Facilities. From The Total 700 Households Of Three Condominiums, 248 Participated In The Study, And Among Whom 165 Questionnaires Were Accidentally Distributed. Accordingly, Three Focus Group Discussions With Eleven Participants From Dheka Adii, Jelissi And Selassie Condominium Sites, Five Key Informant Interview With Civil Engineers From Adama City Housing And Municipality Bureau & Condominium Committees And Interview With Twelve Residents From Each Condominium Were Also Conducted. Besides, Field Observation In The Condominium Sites Was Held. The Purpose Of This Research Is To Assess The Utility And Community Facilitites In Three Adama City Condominium Neighborhoods. The Method To Evaluate The Accessibility Of Utilities In The Condominiums, Site Analysis Were Applied And Proximity Analysis Were Appeal The Vicinityof Community Facilities, Proximity And Site Analyses Method And To Achieve Compatibility Of The Neighborhood, Land Use And Morphological Analysis Was Applied. Finding Are Most Of The Condominiums In Adama City Have Access To Safe Water Supply Despite The Fact That One In Threecondominiums Does Not Have Adequate Water Supply. Liquid Waste Management Practice Within The Adama Condominiums, Sewer Line And Drainage System Was Unsatisfactory. In All 3 Condominiums, Schools Are Closer To Condominium Than Public Health Facilities, Shopping Center And Worship Places. Of The Three Condominiums, The Most Compatible Neighborhood Is The Jelissi Condominium Neighborhood With The Community Facilities In The Area. Government, Ngos, Condominium Residents And Other Private Sector Have To Work Collaboratively To Fulfill The Gap Between The Demand And Supply Of Any Utilities And Community Facilities In The Condominium Housing Projects. When Different Domestic And Foreign Investors Are Planning To Construct A School, Health Center, Commerce Center And Different Community Benefit Facilities, They Ought To Be Consider The Condominium Neighborhoods Where Most Individuals Live, It Need To Construct Inside Walking Distance For The Inhabitant.
