Performance Evaluation Of Moldboard Plow For Tow Tractors ( Casii Maxxum 125 And New Holland T6050)

Abstract

In Modern Agriculture, The Demand For Highly Sophisticated Machinery And Implements Is Essential For Better Agricultural Production Efficiency. Effective Management Of Agricultural Machinery Is Essential For Efficient Use, Requiring, Proper Selection And Tractor Implement Matching . However, In Ethiopia, The Absence Of A Scientific Approach In Estimating Drawbar Pull Requirements For Tillage Implements Presents Challenges In Tractor-Implement Matching Systems The Study Aimed To Evaluate A Proper Matching Of Tractor And Implement For Land Preparation By Determining Drawbar Pull And Drawbar Power. . Field Tests Were Conducted Using Casei Maxxum 125 And New Holland T 6050Tractors With Four Bottom Moldboards At Lasalle Agro Processing Plc. The Field Tests Were Conducted With Four Bottom Moldboard With Varying Operating Depth (20 Cm, 25 Cm, And30 Cm), Operating Width (1.2 M And 1.8 M), And Engine Speeds (2000 Rpm, And 2200 Rpm).Parameters Such As Travel Reduction (Wheel Slippage), Drawbar Pull, Drawbar Power, Pto Power Requirement, Power Utilization Ratio, And Field Capacity During Plowing Operations Were Evaluated. The Soil Physical Properties Were Also Measured. The Experimental Plots Were Laid Side By Side In A Randomized Complete Block Design (Rcbd). Results Indicated That The Highest Drawbar Pull, Drawbar Power, And Power Utilization Ratio Was Shown By The T6050 Tractor Model, With Values Of 41.04 Kn, 52.44 Kw, And 78.86 %, Respectively. The Results Revealed That The Combination Recommended At The First Place Were New Holland T6050 Tractor Model Paired With Mold Board Implement Operating At 2200 Rpm And 1.8 M Working Width For All Operating Depths. In The Second Place New Holland T6050Tractor Combined With The Mold Board Implement Operated At A 2000 Rpm 1.8 M Working Width For 20 And 25 Cm Operating Depth Was Recommended. Lastly, Caseii Maxxum 125Operated At 2200 Rpm And 1.8 M Working Width At 20 And 25 Cm Operating Depth Was Recommended At Third Place Among The Various Tractor Implement Combinations From The Standpoint Of Operational Capacity And Economy.
