Abstract
This Research Provides A Comprehensive Analysis Of The Spatio-Temporal Urban Growth Patterns In Adama City, Ethiopia, Focusing On The Period From 2000 To 2023. The Primary Objective Is To Identify The Patterns Of Urban Expansion, The Extent Of Built-Up Areas, And The Implications Of This Growth On Both The Environment And Socio-Economic Conditions. The Study Reveals A Dramatic Increase In The Built-Up Area Of Adama City Over The 23-Year Period, Indicating A Significant Transformation Driven By Various Factors. Key Findings Indicate That Population Growth, Economic Development, And Enhanced Infrastructure Have Been Major Contributors To This Urban Expansion. The Analysis Employs Remote Sensing And Geographic Information Systems (GIS) To Quantify Changes And Visualize Growth Trends Effectively .In Examining The Implications Of Urban Growth, The Research Highlights Several Environmental Concerns. These Changes Pose Challenges For Sustainable Development In The Region, Necessitating Proactive Measures To Protect Natural Resources.
