dc.description.abstractAssessment Of The Surface Irrigation Potential For Winter Wheat Production Using GIS And Remote Sensing Technology Enables To Indicate Suitable Land For Winter Wheat Production. Prior To Engage In Crop Production Via Irrigation, Land Suitability Analysis For Surface Irrigation And Winter Wheat Is Essential To Gain Food Security And Reducing Improper Land Use Resulting In Land Degradation. In This Regard, Geospatial Technologies Play A Crucial Role In Indicating A Well-Suited Location For Surface Irrigation And Winter Wheat Suitability By Integrating Numerous Spatial Data On Arcmap. Thus, In This Research, Different Types Of Software???S Are Used For Spatial Analysis And Extraction Of Data, Which Encompasses Arcmap10.8, Erdas Imagine 2015, And Idris Selva To Calculate The ???Weight??? Of Each Parameter Based On The Ahp Pairwise Comparison Matrix. In Order To Locate The Suitable Site, Various Types??? Of Geospatial Data???S Are Used, Including Slope, Proximity To The River, Soil (Type, Texture, Depth, Drainage, And Ph.), Lulc, Temperature, And Elevation. To Show The Suitability Of These Factors, Classification Of The Suitability Of These Parameters Is Conducted By The 'Reclassify Tool???Of Arcmap Software, And The Suitability Of Each Criteria Indicated As Highly Suitable, Moderately Suitable, Marginally Suitable And Unsuitable Classes. Subsequently, In Order To Find The Suitable Site For Surface Irrigation And Winter Wheat ???Weight Overlay??? Tool Of Arcmap Is Utilized To Overlay These Reclassified Parameters Over A Model Builder, And Indicated As Highly Suitable, Moderately Suitable, Marginally Suitable And Unsuitable Classes. Accordingly, The Land Suitable For Surface Irrigation Is Estimated To Be About 3.21% Highly Suitable, 23.63%Moderately Suitable, 33.47% Marginally Suitable, And About 39.68% Unsuitable, Whereas Around 4.56%, 20.98%, 41.95%, And 32.51% Are Classified As Highly Suitable, Moderately Suitable, Marginally Suitable, And Unsuitable, Respectively For Winter Wheat Suitability Assessment. Identifying Suitable Land For Both Surface Irrigation And Winter Wheat Production Requires A Multi-Faceted Approach. This Study Supports Local Government And Other Stakeholder Involved In Agriculture Sector To Plan Land For Irrigation Development, And Helps Farmers To Practice Surface Irrigation In High And Moderately Suitable Areas To Improve Productivity Of Land, Increase Livelihood Income And Reduce Food Insecurity.en_US
