| dc.description.abstract | For decade transportation has been consider as a link to all aspects of life worldwide. In this case the world’s natural environment, social well-being, and economic development usually depends on transportation system. Managing the increasing traffic is still a big challenge in Addis Ababa, Megenagna node. Smart transportation system applications provide solution to these problems with the help of new technologies that can achieve the desired transportation balances and for the system to be efficient. The Addis Ababa Traffic Management Agency tries to implement different smart transportation system application in the offices to manage the road congestion. Measuring the challenges and effectiveness of those management practices in the area is the focus of this research. And the route from Megenagna, Arat kilo to kotebe is selected as the case study. Observations like congestion pattern direct field measurements and find different application on the street and secondary data were the main sources for the analysis. Therefore, a wide range of descriptions about smart transportation system are discussed and the study is aimed to focus on what level of smart transportation system application is applied in the study area. Because the transport facilities and this nodal point do not meet with the demand of the people. Therefore, seek to investigate different tools that need smart transportation for Megenagna, diaspora nodal space to clarify the extravagance of energy regarding to transport management. It deeply analyzed the case study are using quantitative and qualitative data collected from observation, questioner, and application of measurements, and collected reports from different institutions. Then those data analyzed through different system concepts. In this part, different software is applied including GIS, Excel, CAD, and Revit. Then analyzed data is presented by maps, tables, and figures. Those analyses led to certain findings which show the nodal is not satisfactory to people and needs an intervention. To solve the existing problems and to come up with smart transport, there search provides design recommendation to create a sustainable transportation system by supporting of information technology | en_US |
