Most of (77.9%) use this water for drinking without any treatment. The people in the study area had no habit of covering the well and throw their wastes everywhere. The most prevalent waterborne diseases were typhoid fever, ameboisis and giardiasis. Additionally, the result indicated that toilets have no water facility and awareness of respondents towards waterborne diseases is poor. Finally, Environmental hygienic practices and water sanitation practices are influential factor for the occurrence of waterborne diseases in the study sites. Awareness programs give by health workers should be related to use of water treatment, water quality, and importance of use of toilets, proper disposal of swages mechanisms and cause and prevention of water borne diseases that should be carried out in the rural areas to improve the status of public health. Furthermore, water and environmental sanitation studies should be conducted on a regular basis to assess risks of contamination of water sources.
