| dc.description.abstract | Antimicrobial Resistance Is A Condition When Bacteria, Viruses, Fungi, And Parasites Change And No Longer Respond To Antimicrobial Agents. The ??-Lactams Are Antibiotics That Consist Of Carbapenems, Cephalosporins, Monobactams, And Penicillins. They All Have A ??-Lactam Ring, Which Can Be Hydrolyzed By ?? Lactamases. ??-Lactamases Are Enzymes That Can Hydrolyze A ?? Lactam Ring. Esbls Are Enzymes That Confer Resistance To Broad-Spectrum Cephalosporins, Oxyimino-Monobactam Aztreonam, And Penicillin. It Is A Common Resistance Mechanism For E. Coli And K. Pnemoniae Studying The Antimicrobial Susceptibility Profile And Associated Factorswith Fecal Carriage Of Esbl Producing E. Coli And Klebsiella Species Among Pregnant Women Attending Anc In Addis Ababa Aimed To Determine The Prevalence, Risk Factors, Andantimicrobial Susceptibility Pattern Associated With The Fecal Carriage. This Prospective Cross Sectional Study Was Conducted From March 08-May 23, 2022.Thestool Samples Were Collected From Pregnant Women Attending Anc At The Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Government Health Center. Stool Samples Were Collected In Test Tubes And Stool Cups With Cary-Blair Transport Media From Volunteers At The Government Health Center??S Restroom. Bacterial Identification Was Performed Using Chromatic Esbl Agar And Standard Biochemical Test Methods. Kirby-Bauer??Sdiffusion Method Was Used To Perform Ast. Data Were Analyzed And Organized Using Spss Version 23. Ast Results Were Analyzed In Whonet Version 2021. Out Of 353 Pregnant Women Enrolled, 51% (180) Carried Esbl-Producing Bacteria In Their Feces. A Total Of 193esbl Producing Organisms Were Isolated Of Which 171 | en_US |
