Abstract
Micro and small scale businesses play significant role in socio- economic development of any nation. But despite the significant role they play in national development, they are usually faced with some challenges that constraint their growth. Hence, this study, as conducted to assess factors influences the growth and survival of micro and small enterprises a case of fitche town. Methodologically, the research approach is quantitative and descriptive, explanatory type of research, where the population of the study is the owners and employees of MSEs in fitche town. The sampling method is probability and specifically stratified random sampling. The data were collected using structured questionnaires. The researcher used both descriptive and inferential statistics specifically mean, standard deviation, Pearson correlation and multiple linear regressions. The result of person correlation revealed finance, managerial skill and infrastructure have positive and significant relationship with growth and survival of MSEs in fitche town. Furthermore, the results of regression analysis indicated that finance, managerial skill and infrastructure have positive and significant effect on growth and survival of MSEs in the studied organizations. It was found that managerial skill has higher effect on growth and survival of MSEs than finance and role infrastructure. A finding of this study shows that providing finance, managerial skill and infrastructure for MSEs is positively and significantly related to higher growth and survival of MSEs. MSEs are better to emphasize on managerial skill to enhance the growth and survival of MSEs.
