Abstract
A Custom Hiring Service Was A Popular Method For Temporary Usage Of Agricultural Machinery And Equipment To Accomplish Farm Activities. A Shortage Of Farm Power Slows Down The Accomplishment Of Crucial Farm Tasks And Eventually Limits The Growth Of Agricultural Production And Farm Income. Therefore, This Study Focused On Evaluating Agricultural Machinery And Equipment Custom Hiring Service Factors Related To The Targeted Area. A Multistage Study Was Conducted With 363 Respondents From 5 Kebeles And 32 Cooperative And Woreda Agricultural Office Respondents Using Semi And Structured Questionnaires. Anova Was Used To Evaluate Factors Associated With Custom Hiring Service And Logistic Regression Model To Used Recommend Hiring Traditional And Modern Hiring Of Farm Machinery. The Study Found That Educational Status, Farm Size, Crop Type, Topography, Availability, Hiring Cost, And Distance Significantly Influence Farm Machinery Hiring Decisions, While Age, Marital Status, Gender, And Soil Type Negatively Affect Hiring Services. The Findings Verify That Male (85.1%) Farmers Are More Engaged Than Female (14.9%) Farmers In Farming. The Studied Households Were In The Age Range Of 41 To 65(56.7%) Had No Formal Education, Could Be Illiterate, And 26.2% Had Stopped Attending Primary School. Machinery Owners Are Not Interested In Fragmented Lands, As They Consume More Fuel Due To Movement Between Areas. Participant Prefers, In Terms Of Cost, Most Of The Selected Farmer Cooperative Union Machinery And Equipment, 61.93% Farmer Cooperative And 38.07% Private Ownership. Participant Showed Farm Machinery And Equipment Like Tractor Training Support Availability Of 35% And 44.4% In Private And Cooperative Unions Respectively. Custom Hiring Systems Agricultural Machinery And Equipment That Facilitate Ways Obtaining For Modern Farming So That Extra Studies Would Be Conducted To Advance The Achievement Of Hiring As A Zone And At The Regional Level At Large.
