Abstract
The goals of next-generation wireless networks are to prepare a different method of quality of
service assurances to mobile users and applications. Customers expect wireless services to
work as well as wired services anywhere and at any time, and they expect communication to
be available and reliable at all times. Massive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO)
technology has the potential to handle orders of magnitude more wireless data traffic than
current technologies. The primary concept of massive MIMO is that terminals are supported
by the Base Station (BS) equipped with a huge number of antenna components that support
numerous users over the same time-frequency resources. Future wireless communication
systems must be able to enable important communications, which necessitates minimal latency
and great reliability. The information transmitted is vulnerable to errors or faces incorrect
detection at the receiver, reducing the reliability and efficiency of the system. This is because
factors like fading, multi-path, and shadowing can have a greater impact on wireless
channels. Massive MIMO systems can achieve improved reliability by increasing the number
of antennas at base stations and utilizing spatial diversity. Channel coding is another method
to enhance the reliability of data transmission of massive MIMO systems by reducing the Bit
Error Rate (BER) of information. Redundancy bits are added to the information bits during
channel coding. Different modulation schemes are used in this work, to compare the BER of a
system without channel coding and with channel coding. By comparing Polar codes and Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) codes, then it has been found that LDPC has a low BER. This
thesis has been analyzed the BER of a massive MIMO system with channel coding and without
channel coding. Assume the systems base station with perfect Channel State Information (CSI)
and imperfect CSI acknowledgment. Channel coding is exponentially decreasing the BER of
the system and the number of antennas also decreasing slightly. The result of the simulation
shows BER of massive MIMO with channel coding is lower than without a channel coding
system.
