The Purpose Of This Study Was To Evaluate The Implementation Of Student Centered Method Of Teaching In Physics Teaching In Preparatory Schools. The Study Was Conducted In Horo Guduru Wollega Zone Preparatory Schools In Oromia Region In Ethiopia ( The Case Of Shambu, Sakala And Tuluwayu Preparatory Schools). Simple Random Sampling Method Was Used To Select The Respondents And The Data Were Collected From 7 Physics Teachers And 130 Grade 11 And 12 Natural Science Students. Descriptive Survey Method Was Used In This Research To Explain The Opinions, Attitudes And Suggestions Of Respondents. The Main Instruments Of Data Collection Were Questionnaire, Observation And Document Analysis. Both Qualitative And Quantitative Data Analysis Were Employed In This Study. The Data Collected Through Questionnaries Was Computed By Using Spss Version 20 And The Descriptive Values Were Obtained. The Analyzed Data Were Described By Using Tables And Graphs. The Findings Of This Study Shows That Among Teaching Methodologies Lecture Method Was Dominating Teaching Method In Which 4 (57.1%) Teacher Respondents And 71 (54.6%) Of Student Respondents Response With Average Mean Value 4.35 Indicates Always Applied. Question And Answer Method, Group Discussion And Solving Sample Problems Were Applied Mostly In The Class Room In Physics Teaching As The Average Mean Value Of The Respondents Response 3.70, 3.50 And 3.80 Respectively Shows Mostly Applied. But Problem Solving Method, Project Method, Modeling Method, Cooperative Learning, Game Based Learning, Discovery Method And Student Presentation With Average Mean Value Of Respondents Response Was 2.58, 2.53, 1.94, 2.46, 2.18, 2.21 And 2.30 Respectively Shows Rarely Employed. In The Case Of Experiment In The Laboratory 4 (57.1%) Of Teacher Respondents And 93 ( 71.5%) Of Student Respondents Response With Average Mean Value 1.49 Shows Never Used Due To Absence Of Laboratory Room, Equipment??S And Laboratories Are Not Functional. Lack Of Instructional Materials, The Failure Of Schools To Satisfy Students Need Effectively And Efficiently, Teachers Choice Of Simpler Methods, Lower Involvement Of Students In Their Lesson, Lack Of Skills How To Apply The Materials In The Active Learning Process And Lack Of Mathematical Skills And Language Barrier Of Students Were Factors Affecting The Implementation Of Student Centered Method Of Teaching Seen In Teaching Physics.
