Abstract
The study investigates the impact of plasma television management in teaching physics. It was aimed to study the influence of plasma television on the students’ achievement and the factors which affect its effectiveness. To achieve this purpose the researcher took four government secondary schools of shashemane town selected purposefully. From 4021 students that learn in these school’s 330 students, 18 physics teachers and 8 school directors were participated on the study. To administer and conduct the study questionnaire and the interview were prepared and given for the students, physics teachers and the school directors. The students’ respondents were selected by lottery method and the teachers and the school directors respondents were selected by their qualification and work position purposefully. Descriptive survey method was employed and both qualitative and quantitative data analysis methods were used. The data gathered through questionnaires were analyzed quantitatively by using statistical description like percentage, mean and standard deviation, where as the interview was analyzed in narrative form. As the result of the study 52.1% of students and 66.7% of teachers indicated that the students could not understand the pronunciation of plasma, about 44.5% of them showed it did not cover all topics and sub-topics of the students’ text book, 62.1% of students and all teachers implied the speed of plasma is to high that the students could not take notes when it teach them. On the other hand, 65.5% of students and 100% of teachers implied in teaching physics plasma method of demonstration focus on the experiment and visual aids for the students and plasma has contribution in increasing the students’ achievement but about 95.5% of the students and 55.6% of teachers agreed time given for plasma was insufficient. With interview teachers and directors implied even if there are some factors that hinder its function plasma has advantage.
