| dc.description.abstract | Energy Is A Major Issue In Advocating One Country???S Development. Buildings Account For MoreThan 40% Of Energy Use In The World. Using Energy Is Becoming More Demanding Because Of The Rapid Population Growth Increasing Energy Intensity In The City. Next To The Industrial Zone, Residential Buildings Use Energy The Most. Less Practice On Energy Assessment On The Demand Side Is A Reason For Bringing About High Energy Use In The Buildings. This Study Aims To Investigate And Evaluate The Energy Consumption Pattern, Energy Performance Index, And Modeling Benchmark For Energy Use In A Residential Building Of Adama City Found In The Oromia Region. It Was Conducted On 203 Residential Buildings, Of Which 16 Villa Houses, 84 Apartment Houses, And 103 Detached Housing Units Were Selected By Random Cluster Sampling. Energy Use In The Residences Was Identified Using A Survey And Organized On Microsoft Excel Which Then Exported To Statistical Package For The Social Sciences For Data Analysis. Linear Regression Was Used To Benchmark Energy Consumption In A Building. It Was Found That The Major Sources Of Energy Are Electric Energy (82.91 %), Charcoal (16.88 %), And Wood Fuel (0.21%). About 3/4th It Is Used For Heating. It Was Discovered That Households Use Average Electric Energy Of 3773.93kwh Per Year. The EPI Is Calculated And Found To Be In An Average Of 5 | en_US |
