| dc.description.abstract | One Of The Most Important Policy-Related Decisions Made By Urban Planners And Policy Makers Is Where To Locate Urban Facilities. The Success Or Failure Of A Facility Is Frequently Determined By The Location That Is Chosen For A Potential Facility. Hence, Before Choosing A Site, It Is Crucial To Assess Potential Locations From A Variety Of Dimensions, Taking Into Account Both Subjective And Objective Variables; However, Such Rational Allocation Of Facilities Is Uncommon In Ethiopia. The Problem Observed In Bishoftu In This Regard A Negligent Site Eventually Harms The Environment And Imposes Excessive Costs And Challenges For Both The Initial Implementation And Any Necessary Subsequent Revisions. This Study Aims To Identify The Best Site To Establish A Public Hospital Using An Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) And Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) In Bishoftu City, Ethiopia. Seven Determinant Factors For Public Hospital Site Location Were Selected Based On A Literature Review And Expert Interview And Used For The Location Selection Evaluation. The Factors Were Developed And Standardized Based On Suitability Rankings. AHP Was Employed To Determine The Relative Importance Of The Factors. Suitable Sites For Public Hospital Development Were Determined Through Weighted Spatial Overlay Analysis In A GIS Environment. The Findings Show That Among The Factors, Land Use And Land Cover, Population Density, Proximity To Roads, And Distance From An Existing Hospital Are Found To Be The Most Significant Factors. The Results Also Reveal That And 9.49%, And 60.03% Of The Study Area Are Identified As Highly Suitable And Suitable For Locating A New Public Hospital, Respectively. This Study Would Provide Planners And Stakeholders With Important Information Regarding Appropriate Alternative Sites For A Public Hospital In The Future In Bishoftu City. A Decision On Urban Facilities??? Location Based On The Results Of Scientific Research Enables Effective Use Of Existing Limited Resources. | en_US |
