Web Based Micro and Small Enterprise Information System for Adama Micro and Small Enterprises Development Bureau

Abstract

Web based small and micro enterprise information system for Adama micro and small enterprises development bureau is a web based system that enable them to manage micro and small enterprises. Specifically our project try to solve the problem of existing system that use flat file format and manual system and we proposed new system for managing enterprises. The project has aimed to analyze the current working environment and design the new system. To develop the new system we interview the manager of the bureau about the day to day activities, we use document analysis and observation to gather different facts about the existing system. We follow object oriented software engineering methodology to solve the existing problem and UML diagram used for structuring the system. In this work, PHP was used as programming language that is server side scripting language and CSS, HTML were used for the style and layout respectively. To store records, this system uses MySQL as a database. At the end, the web based MSE information system is developed. The system enables employees to handle the required information related to enterprises and also enables enterprises to view current information on the site, manage their employees and their financial information. The system is accessible by authorized user only and data can be retrieved easily. Thus, it will help to solve current problems that are being faced by the bureau and enterprises. Its usage will reduce human data entry error found in manual system and speed up the performance of responding time over the manual work. And finally we collect feedback from users about the functionalities of the system and it is important for the users to speed up their day to day activity.
