Abstract

The Studied Research Work Has Been Approved Out In Consequence With Make Usage Of Local Sisal Plant Leaves Were Gathered From Ethiopian Highland. The Objectives Of This Paper Is To Fabricate And Describe The Processing Techniques Of Specimen Preparation And To Examine Characteristics Of Sisal Fiber As Composite Material For Light Body Vehicles For Experimental Basis. The Fibers Are Pullout Through Hand Extraction With Knife After Extraction The Fibers Were Immersed In 8 Gram Sodium Hydroxide (Naoh) In Powder Form Of 10 Liter Distilled Water Solution Prepared. Fiber Was Soaked For 24 Hours To Remove Impurity And Increasing The Surface Roughness Due To The Disturbance In Hydrogen Bonding. The Specimen Is Made-Up By Using The General Purpose Resin (Gp) As A Matrix And The Hardener And The Sisal Fiber As A Reinforcement Material With Appropriate Selection Of Fiber Orientation(00, 450,00 & 900) By Using Experimental (Hand Layup Fabrication Technique) And Catia, The Specimen Is Prepared And According To The Ecae And Astm Standard Dimension Of Test Specimens Was Prepared Their Testing Behavior Such As Tensile, Compression, Flexural And Water Absorption Properties Of Sisal Fiber Reinforced Unsaturated Polyester Resin Composite Material Were Carried Out By Means Of Fiber Reinforcement Of Unsaturated Polyester Resin Composite Samples Were Tested For Samples For Tensile Strength Using Ethiopian Conformity Assessment Enterprise (Ecae) Testing Material (Iso 68921)Standards And For Compression And Bending Strength Is Conducted As Per Astm Standard Using Wp 310 Utm In Adama Science And Technology University (Astu) Laboratory. Based On The Result (0,90) Degree Fiber Orientation Was Found A Tensile Strength Of 100.3 Mpa And Compressive Strength Of 80.3 Mpa Which Is Higher Than 0 Degree And +/- 45 Degree Fiber Orientation Furthermore The Results Of This Study Point Out That Using Sisal Fibers As Reinforcement In Polymer Matrix Could Successfully Prepared Prototype Of Body Panel(Fender) Of Automobile.
