The Increasing Number Of Accidents Involving Three-Wheel Vehicles Like The Minidor Force, As Reported By The Asela Police Station Between 2012 And 2016 E.C., Has Raised Serious Concerns About Vehicle Safety, Particularly Regarding Rear-End Collision Protection. Traditional Steel Bumpers, While Widely Used, Are Heavy, Susceptible To Corrosion, And Provide Limited Energy Absorption. This Thesis Addresses These Challenges By Optimizing The Rear Bumper Design Using E-Glass/Epoxy Composite Material To Improve Crashworthiness, Reduce Weight, And Enhance Overall Vehicle Performance. The Study's Primary Goal Is To Design And Analyze A Rear Bumper For The Minidor Force Using Solid works For 3d Modeling And Ansys For Finite Element Analysis (Fea), With Specific Objectives Including The Modeling Of Four Distinct Bumper Designs And Evaluating Their Stress, Deformation, Energy Absorption, And Reaction Force Under A Simulated 20 Km/H Impact. Compared To Conventional Steel Bumpers, The E-Glass Composite Bumper Exhibits Lower Stress, Superior Energy Absorption, And Significantly Reduced Weight, Contributing To Better Fuel Efficiency And Handling. Its Resistance To Permanent Deformation Under Impact Further Enhances Crashworthiness And Reliability. Among The Models Analyzed, Model D Is Recommended For Implementation Due To Its Optimal Performance And Safety Margins, Highlighting EGlass/Epoxy Composites As A Viable Alternative To Steel For Rear Bumper Systems, Offering Improved Occupant Protection And Structural Efficiency.en_US
