| dc.description.abstract | Concrete as a construction material plays vital role across worldwide construction industries. The constituent of concrete cement, due its property when acted with the water it act as binding material in concrete production. Different materials can enhance the property of concrete like mechanical and durability when they used as replacement of cement. Supplementary cement materials can be used as cement replacing material in different scenarios. Glass powder due to its binding property can be used as supplementary cement material in different dosage. In this study partial replacement of waste glass powder to cement was examined by investigating experiments like workability, compressive strengthen, flexural strengthen ,water absorption, sulphate attack and morphological properties of concrete. For this experimental investigation waste glass powder (wgp) grinded into size of 75micrometer was used as cement with different ratios of replacement were utilized in concrete production:That is, 0%, 10%, 20% and 30%. And studies were performed specifically on concrete had 25mpa compressive strength with water-cement ratio of 0.6. The workability of concrete performed at early strengthen of concrete shows that workability of concrete decreases from 80mm to 62mm as amount of glass powder increases. For the other tests cubic sample 150mm *150mm *150mm where prepared and compressive strengthen , water absorption and sulphate attack were tested. For flexural strengthen 100mm *100mm *500mm sample size were prepared and test performed on the 7th and 28th after cured in water and sulphate attack of concrete property test done on the 56th day. From the experimental investigation partial replacement of wgp was optimized when cement replaced at 20% to waste glass powder . The compressive strengthen and flexural strengthen increases until it reach 20% on the 7th and 28th day the value were 19.4 and 28.9 and 4.21 and 8.1 respectively and after optimum value were then it decreases. Sulphate attack and water absorption of the concrete decreases from 6.38 % to 3.4% and 3.98% to 3.4% as the wgp percentage increases. Due to the pozzolanic activity for the wgp which C-S turned to C-S-H gel, the concrete that contains wgp is denser and less porous that enhances the durability of concrete. | en_US |
