Abstract

The Main Objective Of This Thesis Is To Design Overload And An Unbalance Alert System For An Isuzu - Npr Vehicle That Can Assist A Driver To Minimize Accident. This Work Is To Quantify The Effect Of Overloaded And Unbalance Of Vehicles. The Methods Used For This Work Is Design Of C++ Language And Matlab. For The Problem Of Overloading And Unbalancing Isuzu-Npr Vehicles, On-Board Alert Systems For Same Are Designed. The System Included Four Strain Gauges Found At Each Suspension Or Mounted Under The Front And Rear Leaf Springs In Such Way That It Can Interface With Microcontroller Circuit. From The Programming Result, It Is Found That The Newly Designed System In This Thesis Responded Quickly. The Design System Displayed The Status Of Front And Rear Axle Loads With Regards To Overload And Unbalance Using The Alert And Led System Respectively. If The Vehicle Is Parked On Level Road, The Strain Gauge Measured The Status Of Leaf Springs And Tires. Thus, It Can Be Concluded That The Alert System Can Contribute Remarkably Towards The Proper Use Of Vehicles And Safe Driving.
