Abstract

In this thesis, we studied the squeezing and statistical properties of light produced by degenerate three-level laser whose cavity initially in thermal light and the cavity mode is coupled to squeezed vacuum reservoir. We first obtained the master equation for the system under consideration. Using this master equation, we obtained c-number Langevin equation associated with the normal ordering and the correlation properties of the noise forces, with the aid of in which, we calculated the quadrature variance and the squeezing spectrum. It is found that the degree of squeezing increases with time and the effect of the squeeze parameter is to increase the degree of squeezing. It is also found that for ! = 0 the noise in the minus quadrature is completely suppressed. In addition, using the solutions of the c-number Langevin equations, we calculated the mean and the variance of the photon number. It so turns out that the injecting thermal light in cavity increases the mean and the variance of the photon number at the beginning and then it has no effect at time progresses.
