Abstract

This Study Aimed To Investigate The Slope Stability Condition Along Selected Failed Qune -Bedesa? Sections Of Arbereketi-Micheta Road Upgrading Project. Finite Element And Limit Equilibrium? Stability Analysis Methods Were Performed On Four Soil Slope Sections (SS1, SS2, SS3 And SS4)? Using PLAXIS 2D Software With The Mohr-Coulomb Strength Criterion Under Static Dry And Static? Wet Conditions. The Results Indicated That The Soils In The Study Area Have A Medium To High? Plasticity Index And A High Liquid Limit, With Moisture Content Ranging From 12.95% To 26.25%. The Limit Equilibrium Analysis Revealed The Following Factors Of Safety (FOS) For SS1: 1.452 Under? Static Dry Conditions, 0.904 Under Static Wet Conditions. The Strength Reduction Factor (SRF)? Analysis Showed A Decrease Of 4.6% From Static Dry To Static Wet Conditions. These Findings Provide? Comprehensive And Accurate Information On The Engineering Geological And Slope Stability? Conditions Of The Study Area, Enabling Informed Decision-Making And Appropriate Measures To? Mitigate Potential Slope Failures Along The Road Corridor. Finaly After Taking Effective Remedial? Measure Accordingly, Slope Angle Reduction To 43 O, And 38 O Improves FOS To 1.398 And 1.442 For? SS4 And SS2 Respectively, Using 2 Bench Slopes Cutting Improves FOS To 1.344 And 1.314 For SS2? And SS3 Respectively And Soil Slope Nailing Makes FOS 1.666 And 1.502 For SS1 And SS2? Respectively.
