Abstract
Automobile safety performance has quickly become the top consideration for more and more
individuals due to the industry's rapid expansion. Vehicle rollover accident is a critical
problem. As the vehicle gets rollover, it brings about the loss of lives, destruction of
properties, and unexpected maintenance costs. Controlling engine component parts damage
during vehicle rollover are fundamental from unexpected destruction and maintenance cost.
This development focused on the investigating vehicle engine damage by rollover accident and
its possible solution particularly focuses on Toyota land cruiser vehicle. To develop a
simulation model of the engine rollover mechanism the researcher used the proteus software.
Based on the above issues the engine shut off mechanism during vehicle rollover accident is
developed to avoid the engine component parts to be damaged. The vehicle rollover protection
system uses four sensors to monitor the vehicle roll angle. If the roll angle stays within a safe
range, the system will not activate. However, if the roll angle exceeds a safe threshold, the
system will sound an alarm and flash a warning light. The system will also disable the fuel
delivery to the engine, preventing the vehicle from rolling over. The most optimal angle that
the researcher used as a reference angle for this system are Left side Rollover angle 40.99-
degree, Right Side Rollover angle 48.16 Degree, Rear Ward Rollover Angle 57.5. Degree and
Forward rollover angle (53.66 degree). As a result, warning signals are activated. Therefore,
the engine shutoff mechanism protects the possibility of the vehicle engine component parts
damage. Like drivers and passengers, traffic accident is highly affecting the population of
developing countries population.
