Abstract
In Any Machining Process, It Is Most Important To Determine The Optimal Machining Parameters To Achieve The Desired Product Quality. This Paper, The Work Aims To Optimize The Cutting Parameters Such As Cutting Speed, Feed Rate And Depth Of Cut On Surface Roughness Produced On The Machined Part On The Lathe Machine. The Data For Turning Are Generated On A Lathe Machine, Model Of Cu582 By Dry Turning Operation And Presents An Experimental Study To Investigate The Effects Of Cutting Parameters On Surface Roughness Of En-9 Steel With Inserted Carbide. The Surface Roughness Of The Workpiece Is Measured Using A Surface Roughness Tester. Optimum Machining Parameters Of Turning Operations Are Greatly Influenced By Concern Along With Manufacturing Environment. In This Experimental Work, Turning Parameters Are Greatly Influenced By Response Parameters Like Surface Roughness And Metal Removal Rate. Mainly Surface Roughness Were Investigated Employing L9 Orthogonal Array Using Taguchi??S Design Of Experiments With Different Cutting Parameters Of En-9 Of Turning Parameters And Optimized By Signal To Noise (S/N) Ratio And Analyzed By Analysis Of Variance (Anova??S). The Experimental Investigation Was Conducted Under Varying Input Influential Process Parameters While Taking Other Parameters Constant Cutting Parameters For Resulted Surface Roughness Test Were Done. The Ranges Of Cutting Parameters Process In The Present Study Are Limited To: Cutting Speed (31, 33,35m/Min), Depth Of Cut (0.5, 1.5, 2.5mm), Feed Rate (0.2, 0.4, 0.6mm/Rev). Through This Study, Not Only Can The Optimal Cutting Parameters For Turning Operations Be Obtained, But Also The Main Cutting Parameters That Affect The Cutting Performance In Turning Operations Were Found. In This Study, S/N Ratio Revealed That The Optimum Surface Roughness Condition Is Achieved At 35m/Min Of Cutting Speed, 0.2mm/Rev Of Feed Rate And 2.5mm Of Depth Of Cut.The Level Of Significance Of Each Parameter Was Determined By The Help Of Analysis Of Variance. So That, From The Analysis Of Variance Cutting Speed Is A Dominating Or Signif
